Meghan and Harry announced their engagement in November 2017, and were married the following May. The couple are expecting their first child later this spring. Meghan’s uncle, Joseph Johnson, revealed how the family responded to the engagement being announced.
Speaking to Mail Online he said: “All of us were just really, really stunned. Shocked.
“Especially Doria. She was so excited.
“She was just saying ‘my little flower’! How can this be true? Unbelievable.
“She said: ‘My flower’s going to be a Princess.”

Doria attended her daughter’s wedding, held at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19 2018.
However Meghan’s father, Thomas Markle, pulled out following health issues.
The bride was instead led down the isle by her future father-in-law, Prince Charles.
Mr Johnson was complementary about his niece describing her as “not afraid to be herself” and “a really wonderful person”.

He also suggested Meghan is well suited to Royal life asserting: “She likes the attention, she’s had the schooling and then being in Hollywood, so she can handle that.
“I have read that some of Harry’s old girlfriends couldn’t handle all the scrutiny.
“From what I hear, from what Doria says about Meghan, she loves it.”
Mr Johnson, aged 62, currently lives in Fresno, California.
